My sister came over today and visited with Chael and me. We discovered that these cookies are really wonderful with tea. I made them originally for Chael to snack on but have found myself devouring them. I will say that my first batch I burnt till they were black, dark black. So my suggestion would be to not bake them for fifteen minutes (or be completely sidetracked and discover your cookies by the plumes of smoke escaping the oven door). I found with my second batch that 8-10 min was perfect and I didn't leave mine in the oven for 30 min as the recipe recommends. They turned out just right, a crisp browned vanilla wafer.
