Chael and I have been enjoying the last few days of summer. In between canning and cooking and freezing the garden we take little breaks outside to play with the dog and to swing. I am so thankful to the Lord for allowing me the time to slow down and enjoy these moments.

What do you do with a tomato that has a face? I discovered this unique veggie four days ago and have had a dilemma ever since. Do you each a vegetable with a face? It has such a kind face. Sweet and round it has sat staring at me in my windowsill. Now I eat many things with faces. I am not one who is against that sort of thing but when an occurrence such as this arises it seems wrong to waste a tomato with a face by slicing in a salad or on a B.L.T sandwich or mashing it up to make chilie and stew. What am I to do?

This photo arose from me pulling carpet staples out of the wood floor in my closet. I had been on my knees using pliers for some time when I decided my knees and back needed a break. I was pleasantly surprised at how pretty all my dresses looked from that angle. I know Michael thought I was a little off my rocker when I took the camera in the closet but by now I think he should be used to it. Can't wait till the sanding, and staining is over. Our house is such a mess!

Such a wonderful day with my man and boy. We don't generally play on the bed in the middle of the day, but because we are working on refinishing the floors in the rest of the house we are living in the family room. (It is a mess) So the bed is smack dab in the middle. We had a wonderful lunch which included tacos with tortilla and chips from the Mexican bakery down the road (they are the BEST tortillas and chips) and homemade salsa from all our garden pickings. And to top it off we drank authentic grapefruit soda. Sooooo gooood.

We are home from a real vacaton.
It was wonderful.
This hammock was filled often and much needed rest was recieved.
I took way too many photos and now have loads and loads of laundry.
But the effects of the rest are at work
Because I have a smile on my face this morning.
