simplicity

January 22, 2010

I love how the Lord speaks to us through the most simple moments. In the simplicity He speaks. It isn't something we can force or make happen. In the Lord's timing and in His way will He speak.

saturdays

I am not sure who enjoys Saturday cartoons more. All I know is that I enjoy watching these two love each other so much.

rubber duck

The last few days have been filled with much cleaning and scrubbing. I was recently diagnosed with having a staff infection on both my ears. The doctor assured me that this had nothing at all to do with hygiene and that some people just are susceptible to it. None the less this has completely grossed me out. It seems that after we have an outbreak of sickness I have this insensate need to clean everything. So today I can say my house is clean. I just wish I could somehow dowse myself in a vat of antiseptic and rid myself of this very painful situation...

journals and things

January 2, 2010

Creating is refreshing to me. I am definitely starting 2010 with much inspiration and ambition. For me the new year gives me a chance to set goals for the year challenging me to be more disciplined. I know it is just another day in the scope of things but for an organized mind such as mine the first day of the year is a perfect timing to implement new ideas. One of those is to start journaling more often. I found this great idea for making these little notebooks similar to the moleskin version. I have always loved these but not the price for a few sheets of paper and a cardboard cover. So yesterday I went to work and constructed two of these lovely little books. My plan is to make twelve and fill one up each month. I am one who like to complete projects so having twelve small book rather than one big book is very appealing to me. We will see how this goes but it sounds good reading it on the screen.

I am so thankful for the creation the Lord has made for us to be encouraged, amazed, and inspired by. These little birds were so fun to watch as Chael and I played in the snow.

Happy New Year

January 1, 2010

We are enjoying the evening at home. The boy woke us up at 4:00 a.m. this morning so I am afraid we won't be awake to welcome the new year. I am praying this next year will be one filled with Jesus and growing in His grace. See you in 2010!

Projects for 2010

December 30, 2009

A few projects I would like to try in 2010:
1. This scarf
2. This bag for our trips to the library
3. A few of these for some upcoming arrivals
4. Paint a tray. I found a plain white tray on one of my thrifting days and have been needing to finish it.
5. The scarf is pretty great too. Hmm, two new scarves?
6. And isn't this a fun idea for using up old magazines.
7. Also chasing this little man around. His new socks from grandma make me smile when they are on his chubby little legs.
