So I have accomplished yet another milestone in my sewing adventures. I have successfully sewn a dress for myself! It fits wonderfully and I actually like it. Surprisingly so, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Zippers, interfacing, hemming, are not as hard as they sound. I do have to give credit to my mother who patiently helped and answered my questions when need be. The original pattern is found
here. I made a few slight abbreviations to the dress by leaving off the ruffle and lengthening my dress a bit. I add a belt which I can remove and change out with other belts. I plan on making a vintage floral print belt soon.

I have found though that at this point much of my sewing time is taken with fixing the machine, rethreading the machine, pleading with the machine to work right. My mom says that a sewing machine is like a horse...it can sense when you are scared. I laughed at her and said "Mom it is a machine!" but deep down I think she might be right...
