I love this man and am looking forward to welcoming in the New Year with him. We are praying this New Year is one filled with growing in the joy of Jesus! I will begin this by beating my love in multiple games of checkers tonight...

Hours of fun with the, as Chael would call it, "mega flying glass". I love playing with these two boys in the moody light trickling in from our window. Many giggles were produced after looking at the pictures on the computer screen from Chael. Denny's large nose brought the most joy. I love how two days after Christmas we can be found playing with the empty wrapping paper rolls, using them as swords and telescopes. Life with boys is amazing.

One month old on this day. The previous night was long, oh so long. This picture documents our morning routine, cuddles and thanksgiving that Denny is finally happy. He is always happy during the day or should I say he is always asleep during the day. I know this time will pass soon so I am trying to enjoy the sleepless nights and sleepy days. I am so proud of Chael for accomplishing this task. Michael and I feel as though we have finally taught him a practical skill he will use the rest of his life. Continue reading ...

Oh it feels good to be home! Today is the first day back into our normal routine after a very full month. Looking through the pictures I took I decided there are way too many to post in one lump so I am slowly going to share some of my favorite images from our trips for the next few days. We have spent two weeks in Costa Rica, a week home resting, and a week camping. Seeing my husband for so many consecutive days was really nice! I also read three books in two weeks. That is something I haven... Continue reading ...

Fathers day included: a little bit of sickness, a lot of sleep, a bit of swinging, a small walk, a few pieces of pie, a lot of whipping cream, and a ton of love to our man.

Chael has been one unhappy little boy the last two days. His two year molars are creeping in very slowly causing much discomfort. He has been pointing in his mouth crying, "mama my teeth, my teeth." It has been hard on both of us. I found him this morning sleeping standing up after a non-sleep night. His dad said he was found like this at some point during the day too.
On a funny note, I had left Chael watching Elmo while I went to work on a quick project and when I had returned he had filled ... Continue reading ...

Chael and I love clean sheet day. He loves to snuggle and jump in to the used sheets I pile on the floor. Though he is growing out of the peek-a-boo stage he still will please his mama by pulling a sheet over his head and laughing when he reappears. I know he does this just for me.
My favorite part of clean sheet day is ending my day snuggled in the clean ones.

To my beautiful mother, and wonderful "other" mother (I really dislike the title in-law....sounds so cold) Happy Mother's Day! I am so thankful for the wisdom you share with me as I am learning how to be a mother.
Michael, Chael and myself are blessed to have moms, and grandmas and memas like you.

We are still working on the coloring. Chael often confuses the crayons for food items. I would think after a few chomps on such a waxy object he would be finished with tasting the crayons. But this problem keeps occurring and I have cleaned many colorful chunks out of his mouth today. I hope they aren't toxic. The crayons are from the dollar store so you never know. Also, I haven't been able to instill to him that one cheerio at a time is the best way to eat them. He seems to like to eat nin... Continue reading ...

I love Monday mornings. Michael stays home half day so it leaves us a morning to wake up slowly and have breakfast together. We enjoyed Chael's conversation this particular morning. He just went on and on with his expressive hand gestures and an occasional recognizable word. I believe the topic of conversation was the Greek alphabet or something like that... We have Greek class Monday night so Michael and I finish our homework and Chael likes to join us with a box of crayons. He is still not ... Continue reading ...

Michael and I celebrated our fourth wedding anniversary yesterday. Candlelight dinner, sweet conversation, and strawberry shortcake, but to top it off a homemade card. He even wrote in cursive...I have never seen him write in legible cursive in the seven years I have known him. And the part that made me laugh so hard was he gave me the stack of construction paper and glue sticks he had left over for a gift. I love him so much.

Dinner time never fails to spark a game of peek-a-boo. His little hands go over his face, sometimes covered in dinner remains, and he waits for the responding person to ask frantically, CHAEL? CHAEL?." With much delight he peeks through his chubby fingers to make sure you haven't forgotten about your game. His laughter is nothing short of a sweet music to his mama when he reveals his food smudged face.
So thankful right now for dimpled fingers and elbows.

I am having one of those days. My poor hubby. I am sure a few choice verses from Proverbs were ringing true this morning for him. (They are always true but the ones about a contentious wife and living on the roof were, I am sure, coming to mind.) So for now I am awaiting the arrival of my hubby (to apologize) and am so thankful the Lord's mercy endures forever!!

The last few days have been filled with much cleaning and scrubbing. I was recently diagnosed with having a staff infection on both my ears. The doctor assured me that this had nothing at all to do with hygiene and that some people just are susceptible to it. None the less this has completely grossed me out. It seems that after we have an outbreak of sickness I have this insensate need to clean everything. So today I can say my house is clean. I just wish I could somehow dowse myself in a vat... I am not sure the perfect tree exists after our search for one last Saturday. We found many tall trees that were beautiful, but they were much too tall. We found many small trees that were cute but they were much too small. I think the fun in cutting your own tree is the anticipation and adventure of finding the perfect tree. After an hour of searching we settled on one we had spotted at the beginning of our search. When Michael cut the chosen one he could hold it above his head with one hand... Continue reading ...

I am so completely blessed! We took some family photos on Saturday and here are a few that turned out (we had many, many, out takes). Using a tripod and the self timer was definitely a work out for me but I am happy to have photos with all three of us!
My heart is full, and am looking forward to giving thanks tonight with my church family to the One who made us all. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I am not sure who taught Chael how to kiss but it is a passionate one indeed. Mouth open, tongue out, and drool droolin, he has got all elements covered. For sure Mike and I kiss around him but this...this...we did not teach him this. It is funny too because he prefaces his kisses with the proper lip smack, squeezing his cheeks in and puckering his lips. As he leans in he has it right you are thinking, "okay I am going to get a sweet little peck," but at the last moment he seems to realize th... Continue reading ...

Such a wonderful day with my man and boy. We don't generally play on the bed in the middle of the day, but because we are working on refinishing the floors in the rest of the house we are living in the family room. (It is a mess) So the bed is smack dab in the middle. We had a wonderful lunch which included tacos with tortilla and chips from the Mexican bakery down the road (they are the BEST tortillas and chips) and homemade salsa from all our garden pickings. And to top it off we drank auth...

We are home from a real vacaton. It was wonderful. This hammock was filled often and much needed rest was recieved. I took way too many photos and now have loads and loads of laundry. But the effects of the rest are at work Because I have a smile on my face this morning.

I just had to post these pictures I took today of my sister. She is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and out. I love her wacky style and her silly looks. They make me smile even when I don't feel like smiling. I can be completely myself around her and her with me. That is what makes the greatest of friends.
